The beloved pond paddle boats at Julia Davis Park have a new operator—the Discovery Center of Idaho—and are open this summer with card-only payments and no reservations required.

BOISE, ID—The paddle boats on the pond at Julia Davis Park are back on the water this summer, now operating under the Discovery Center of Idaho. According to @mountainhomeidaholove, rentals run $15 for 30 minutes or $20 for a full hour, priced per boat.

Payment is card only, and tickets can’t be reserved ahead of time—you’ll buy them in person at the venue. Discovery Center of Idaho members get 20% off.

If you’re bringing a group of more than 15, the Discovery Center recommends calling ahead so they can prepare. m. m. , weather permitting. Plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before closing for a 30-minute ride, or 75 minutes out if you want the full hour.

Parking is free throughout the park, and life jackets and flotation devices are provided. org. The Boise River Greenbelt runs right past Julia Davis, which means there’s a reasonable argument for making an afternoon of it.
