How Boise Today Handles Stories
Boise Today is a local discovery and stories site focused on Boise and the Treasure Valley. It is operated by Makeable Brand LLC. Editorial questions, corrections, rights questions, and creator requests can be sent through the contact page.
Bylines
Boise Today Staff is the collective byline used for creator features, staff briefs, roundups, and work produced or edited by more than one person. Named bylines may be used for original reporting, interviews, first-hand visits, opinion, guest work, or pieces with a clear personal perspective.
Unaffiliated creators are credited as sources or featured creators unless they actually wrote, submitted, or formally contributed to the Boise Today story.
Story Labels
Creator Feature
A short story built around a public creator video, Reel, TikTok, Short, or similar source.
Boise Today Brief
A short local update assembled or edited by Boise Today.
Original Story or Guide
Reporting, first-hand work, research, interviews, or substantial local guidance.
Opinion
Personal commentary or an institutional position, clearly labeled.
Sponsored
Paid, compensated, or sponsor-supported material, clearly disclosed.
Creator Features
Creator-led stories should identify the creator, platform, and original source whenever that information is available. We use language such as “Featuring video from,” “Source,” or “According to” so a creator’s video is not presented as independently confirmedBoise Today reporting.
Creator features should add local value beyond repeating a caption. That may mean location context, practical details, a helpful link elsewhere on the site, or a short outside-perspective note about why the clip is useful or worth watching.
Creators and rights holders may ask us to correct credit, change a link or image, remove an embed, add context, or review a removal request. Use the photo, video, or rights topic and include the story URL and original post.
Sourcing & Corrections
Factual claims should be verified or attributed in a way readers can understand. We do not write “we tried,” “we visited,” or “we confirmed” unless Boise Today actually did that work.
Sensitive claims involving crime, misconduct, health, safety, employment disputes, private individuals, or similar issues require extra verification and should not rely on a creator video alone.
Meaningful factual corrections or updates may be noted on the story itself. Correction requests can be sent through the corrections topic.
Syndication
Publishing on Boise Today and distributing to outside platforms are separate decisions. New stories can be marked Syndication Ready, Partner Review, Boise Today Only, or Hold or Remove in the story publishing workflow.
The public RSS feed is available at https://www.boisetoday.co/rss.xml. Stories explicitly marked Hold or Remove are excluded from that feed.
