Eight Boise Restaurants That Caught a Skeptical Visitor Off Guard

TikTok creator @hasanguy worked his way through downtown, Hyde Park, and beyond—lobster Benedict, an ice cream potato, and all.
BOISE, ID—A visitor arrived in Boise without much in the way of food expectations and left with a list of eight restaurants he’d return for, according to TikTok creator @hasanguy, whose recap of the trip has been circulating on the platform.
The itinerary covers a lot of ground. According to @hasanguy, Stardust (1002 W Main St) opened with lobster Benedict and duck and waffles.
The Boise Post (1005 W Grove St, 16th floor) added Wagyu skirt steak and lamb meatballs with a skyline backdrop. Spud Daddy (404 S 8th St) got the Chipotle-but-for-baked-potatoes comparison.
Goldy’s Breakfast Bistro (108 S Capitol Blvd) announced itself via line length. Lost Grove Brewing in Hyde Park (1602 N 13th St) went wide—wings, Korean fried chicken, a burger, and bao buns.
Guru Donuts (928 W Main St) and Goody’s Soda Fountain (1502 N 13th St) handled the sweet end of things.
The can’t-miss moment, per @hasanguy: the ice cream potato at Westside Drive In (1929 W State St or 1113 Park Center Blvd). It is, in fact, ice cream. It does, in fact, look like a baked potato. Locals already know this; visitors apparently need to be warned.
