First Thursday opening reception of “Discothèque” Solo Exhibition by Boise Artist Danica Factor

Boise artist Danica Factor invites the community to celebrate the spirit of the disco era through her newest solo exhibition, Discothèque, on view August 3 – 29, 2026 at Art Source Gallery in downtown Boise. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 6, from 5:00–9:00 p.m., featuring complimentary food, music, and a hands-on art activity. The reception is free and open to the public. More than a celebration of glitter and dance floors, Discothèque explores one of the most transformative periods in American history. Through vibrant color, bold patterns, vintage imagery, and layered mixed-media paintings, Factor honors the late 1960s and early 1970s — a time when the civil rights movement, women’s liberation movement, and gay rights movement expanded the possibilities of freedom, equality, and belonging.
